Our Vision

Our vision is to establish a centre of excellence in Australia as a hub for the global Theravada Buddhist community in the preservation, study and dissemination of the authentic teachings of the Buddha in the Theravada tradition to benefit the Australian community and the wider world

To benefit all living beings through creating a society of laity and ascetics who are conscientious, prudent and awaken, and cultivating Metta (loving kindness), Karuna (compassion) Muditha (sympathetic joy) and Upeksha (equanimity) is our vision.

Our Misssion

  • We aim to foster deep understanding and practice of the Dhamma through comprehensive programs including meditation training, Pali language studies, and the exploration of the Thripitaka, the Buddhist canon. We will teach lay practitioners with a view to envision a community where individuals are empowered to lead lives of mindfulness, ethical conduct and wisdom.
  • We seek to promote peace, compassion, and unity across diverse communities by engaging in charitable activities and outreach programs that embody the Buddhist principles of generosity, pleasant speech, and equality.  Our commitment extends beyond our immediate community, as we aspire to connect and collaborate with Theravada Buddhist centres worldwide, creating a global network of support and shared learning.
  • We envision a future where the ICTB Australia serves not only as a place of worship and study, but we also aspire to leave a lasting legacy of spiritual enrichment, cultural preservation, and compassionate action for generations to come.
